The Barbados Workers’ Union was successful in resolving some of the immediate issues that resulted in the Transport Board’s work stoppage on Monday January 23, 2023.

General Secretary Hon Ms. Toni Moore indicated that there are a number of ongoing issues which spanned over 2 years that contributed to the work stoppage. After meeting with the Management of the Transport Board, the Union was able to resolve some of the immediate issues, specifically the acting arrangement for terminal managers and clerks who have been raised as Senior Clerks.

“I want to say thanks to the workers of the Transport Board for coming out very strong and in their show of solidarity and unity around their own issues, I think we were able to get a number of the outstanding issues back to the forefront. “

The Transport Board’s Management and the Union will resume talks in the upcoming weeks to resolve the other issues indicated by the workers.
